Dr. Scott completed his Doctor of Business Administration (D.B.A.) program with a concentration in economics through the Godbold College of Business at Gardner-Webb University. His work was titled, "Analyzing Real-time Behavioral Shifts in Response to Tourism Policy Using Google Trends Data and Advanced Difference-in-Differences (DiD) Methods," under Supervising Chair Dr. Anthony Negbenebor. Dr. Scott's dissertation found that advanced DiD methods, such as dynamic treatment effects, group-time average treatment effects, and staggered adoption models, produced statistically significant results not observed in the canonical DiD approach. While the actual volume of tourism in Venice did not significantly shift due to the day-trip tax, notable and statistically significant changes in consumer behavior were captured through Google search trends, indicating early behavioral responses to the policy.
Prior to transitioning into higher education during the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Scott held leadership roles in international and domestic corporations, including Yum! Brands, M.H. Alshaya Company, and Carrols Corporation. His corporate experience spans financial management, operations management, and international business, while also having lived and worked in the United States, Kuwait, and Italy.
Brad Scott is a dual citizen of the United States and a European Union-member country.
